New Orleans Fishing Report

Fall Fishing is Here.

Made it back to the dock by 11 am on Saturday, September 15th with a limit of Speckled Trout and Redfish all caught just minutes from Island Marina in New Orleans. Fall fishing is officially here! Luck was on my side as the first stop, was the only stop needed for Speckled Trout on this trip. The boat was positioned in a cove where the tail end of a rising tide was pushing bait to the shoreline. Once the Speckled Trout were worked into a frenzy with live shrimp, a Green Hornet Matrix was placed 3' under a cork to quickly load a limit into Victory Bay Charters' 23' Nautic Star. As soon as number 25 hit the ice, the engine was started to race to the nearest pond and locate Redfish. After navigating to the back of a large pond, I noticed the tide had fallen several inches. A few casts with a Gulp Shrimp confirmed my suspicions; the Redfish had moved with the falling tide. The boat was relocated halfway back to the opening of the pond, near a small cut. First cast just outside of the cut, the cork made a slow submerge beneath the surface and it was fish on!  Fast forward a few minutes, 5 healthy Louisiana Redfish were flopping around on the deck of the Nautic Star. Another successful New Orleans Fishing Trip. Book your trip with Victory Bay Charters for an adventurous day of fishing in New Orleans!
